Fat Injections

An individual’s own fat can be used as an almost limitless filler material to help provide fullness or enlargement of areas as well as to correct contour irregularities. Fat injections can be used to create fuller lips, level out depressed scars, fill out areas of excess fat removal resulting from a previous liposuction, address facial creases and augment and contour various facial areas.

Treatment Using Fat Injections

Treatment by fat injection is usually a minor procedure that can be done under local anesthesia with or without sedation depending on the extent of the areas to be addressed. During the fat transfer procedure, liposuction is used to remove the fat from various areas of the body. This fat is then processed and injected into the desired areas.

Not all of the fat that is transplanted into the targeted area will survive. Most patients require more than one fat transfer treatment in order to achieve optimal results.
