Life comes with stresses.

Lots of them.

In fact, it seems that the stress supply is endless. There’s enough to go around for everyone many times over.

And yet there is still more!

We all deal with stresses – many external, some internal. No matter what, though, they really do wear on you particularly the longer you have to deal with them, the more there are and the more significant they are.

Now imagine waking up every day and feeling that you are absolutely in the wrong body. That is, your body physically is showing you that you are either a male or female but your brain is telling you that you are really the opposite sex or something different from that. Your dress, behavior, thinking and interacting is as who you are which is at odds with your physical being.

You have what is known as gender nonconformity or transgender identity. Trapped in a body that is not you or who you are.

The consequences of the stress dealing with this can be anxiety, mood disorders, depression, eating disorders, insomnia, decreased self-worth, self-harm, suicide and more.

This is gender dysphoria.

You’ve been through counseling, psychiatric and/or psychological evaluation and therapy, and maybe have been taking the necessary hormones all while feeling much more comfortable and happier living openly in your “new” identity. After strong, serious and thorough considerations over a long period of time, you now want to change your physical appearance somewhat to better match your gender identity. It is the breast (or top) surgery that you want to pursue.

At the Arizona Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, we offer and specialize in both female-to-male (FTM) and male-to-female (MTF) breast (top) surgery to those individuals who have successfully completed the requirements necessary to proceed with their physical transition.* Based on the results of your consultation including your stated goals and particular anatomy, a precise surgical treatment plan will be customized in order to help you best realize the desired outcome.

For more information about transgender breast (top) surgery or to schedule a consultation for yourself or someone you know, please call my office at 480-451-3000.
