For years, we have been awaiting FDA approval (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) of the “gummy bear” silicone breast implants so that they could be offered here as an option for breast augmentation, breast reconstruction and breast revision surgery. The wait is, alas, finally over. Yesterday, on February 20th, 2013 the FDA announced their formal approval for the usage of this implant. Officially, the implant is called the Natrelle® 410 Highly Cohesive Anatomically Shaped Silicone-Filled Breast Implant or the shorter version, the Natrelle® 410.
