If given the choice, most women (and many men) older than thirty would like their facial and neck skin to look better and/or younger. That is why they use moisturizes, make-up, sunscreens and myriad other topical agents. It is also why they pursue facials, chemical peels, Botox®, facial fillers like Juvederm®, and intense pulsed light treatments.

All of these can positively impact one’s appearance in some way, they have no true down time and do not require surgery. Of course, the extent and or scope of their beneficial effects are limited.

For many reasons today, people are seeking ways to rejuvenate their face that involve little or no down time and, preferably, without the need for surgery. At the same time, they are willing to accept a lesser result as an acceptable tradeoff for these stipulations.

With advancements in medical research and technology, we now have newer, better, more precise and effective non-surgical options to globally rejuvenate the skin of the face AND neck and which do not require any down time.

The CUTERA® excel V laser is one such option.

This laser is a non-ablative, tunable laser system that consists of two different wavelength frequencies that can non-surgically and effectively promote skin tightening and rejuvenation.

What does this all mean for you?

The term “non-ablative” means that the top layer of the skin is not removed. Consequently, there are no open wounds to heal or treat and no down time so you can pretty much do whatever you want later that day (aside from laying out in the sun or going to a tanning booth).

The “tunable” and the “two-wavelengths” parts describes the inherent precision and level of control with the laser regarding the depth of effect, energy applied, etc. and the flexibility to tailor treatments based on your unique characteristics in order to maximize efficacy while minimizing risks.

How this all works is that CUTERA’S excel V laser stimulates the formation of new collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis as is seen in more youthful tissues. The result is that the skin is firmer, stronger and more elastic.

In other words – REJUVENATED.

This can be accomplished by a laser treatment approximately every ten days to two weeks for a total of 5 sessions, each of around 30 minutes duration. Maintenance treatments can then be performed later in time to help keep your skin looking more youthful.

A Message Regarding Coronavirus/COVID-19

In light of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to let you know of some of the major precautions we are taking in our office to maximize cleanliness and keep the environment as sanitary and safe as possible. Our highest priority is always to ensure the safety of every individual who sees us and we are taking extreme infection-control measures to maintain cleanliness and “sterility” of surfaces and the overall environment.

We will be limiting dates and times for office appointments and consultations due to safety and other issues. Consequently, if you have already made an office appointment or consultation prior to March 18, 2020 to occur at a later time, this may need to be changed.

For anyone considering plastic surgery, we are now offering Virtual Consultations and Telemedicine through Skype. A great number of aesthetic or insurance-related issues can be evaluated via pictures and online video conferencing, making this an excellent way to find out more about particular procedures, determine candidacy for treatment, receive answers to questions and facilitate being able to move forward with care once the government lifts all restrictions.

In an abundance of caution, we are asking all current patients who are experiencing a fever, cough, chills, fatigue or any type of respiratory illness to please delay any upcoming appointments at our practice. We can talk with you by phone or email to establish a new date and time for the appointment.

We are all in this together. Our team urges everyone to follow the guidelines recommended by local health authorities and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which include frequent handwashing for a minimum of 20 seconds, social distancing, staying home if you are feeling sick, and contacting your healthcare provider if you feel you are experiencing symptoms.
